The 45mm f/1.8 lens offers fast and quiet autofocus performance with the ability to focus manually. It features an internal focusing design and Floating System for a minimum focusing distance of 11.4" and a maximum magnification of 1:3.4. Its construction includes seals that protect against moisture and a fluorine-coated element to guard against fingerprints and moisture.

Designed for Nikon F mount DSLR in FX format, it is also compatible with DX models offering a focal length of 67.5mm. The fast maximum aperture of f/1.8 facilitates shooting in low light conditions.

One LD (Low Dispersion) element minimizes chromatic aberrations, while two aspherical elements correct spherical and comatic aberrations as well as distortions. The eBAND and BBAR coatings reduce surface reflections and prevent flare.

The built-in VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake for clearer handheld shots in low light. The USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor provides fast and accurate autofocus.

A Floating System moves a group of elements for faster AF response, with a minimum focusing distance of 11.4" and a maximum magnification of 1:3.4. Its construction is moisture-resistant, and seals surround the lens mount. The nine-blade rounded diaphragm produces a pleasing out-of-focus effect.

The SILKYPIX Developer Studio 4.0 software for Tamron is included with the lens.
