Sanguario is a work dedicated to unconditional acceptance and respect for each other's personality. Through this story, in a symbolic way, there is an attempt to convey to children of all ages and their families important messages about serious issues such as diversity, racism, injustice, lack of understanding, the pressure to conform to social standards, and the unpleasant feelings that arise when a family member differs from what is usual and "normal" for any reason (special needs, disability, adjustment difficulties, psychological or learning problems, deformity, etc.).
A small cactus can become the tyrant of its respectable family, wanting to draw attention and earn the love of its parents, which rightfully belongs to it. When after a very serious illness, it manages to achieve this with the help of the pocket mouse in the role of the anguish of death, little Sanguario transforms into an adorable, albeit unique, cactus-child and his parents, fortunately not too late, realize the true gift of life.
