A life in a book? It's impossible... What to say first, what to leave out, how to convey to others the indescribable joy and momentary happiness of a great success, as well as the deep sorrow and sadness of a failure, private or professional? All these thoughts crossed my mind as we worked on this book with Maki Provat, whose collaboration was sine qua non. Slowly, I convinced myself of the usefulness of such an endeavor. I was fortunate to live during an extremely interesting period in the history of Particle Physics and Cosmology, and through hard work, I managed to contribute to the advancement of science and lay a small stone for a better understanding of the Universe. My trajectory was "scientifically cosmopolitan" - "many men saw cities and learned their thoughts" - and perhaps this experience may have some interest and usefulness for the reader.
