In many ways, 7 Wonders: Duel resembles the base game 7 Wonders as players acquire cards that provide resources or advance their military strength or sciences in order to develop a complete civilization and complete wonders over the course of three ages. The difference in 7 Wonders: Duel is that - as the title suggests - the game is for two players. Instead of players simultaneously playing cards from their hand, they play cards from decks of open and closed cards that are created at the beginning of the round. Like in the base game, each card you acquire can be built, discarded for three coins, or used to build a wonder.

Very nice game! I got it yesterday and I have already tried 3 rounds and I highly recommend it. It has a strategic depth and sets up relatively quickly. Maybe I will get bored of it quickly, I don't know, but for now I really like it. It's like a condensed version of its big brother that is played with many people (although I have only played this one electronically).
The only drawback I have found is how the rules are written, it took us a while to understand what was happening, not because they are difficult but because of how the booklet is set up. So it requires a little effort there or maybe you can find an explanatory video on the internet.
The components and cards are well-made with nice artwork, and only a few times did my father have a little difficulty seeing some symbols, so if you play it with older people they might have a small issue there, but overall I think everything is readable.
I also consider it quite accessible and it was one of the few games that I managed to get my father to play with me and enjoy it.
I think you will get a lot of enjoyment if you try it, but again, it's relative.
