  • Purchased elsewhere because the price here is outrageous, BUT the card is really top for what it is. Recognition on a Windows system happened after installing drivers (https://archive.org/details/intelr-network-adapter-driver-for-windowsr-10) and through the Intel(R) PROSet Adapter Configuration Utility.

    On Debian 13 it was recognized natively.

    ATTENTION it is EITHER 1Gigabit OR 10Gbit, not 4 etc. So either SFP or SFP+ at both ends, NOT QSFP or SFP28 etc.

    ATTENTION factory (unless you get a used unlocked one) it is limited as to which SFP modules it accepts, of course from Linux CLI with the ethtool tool you can easily bypass this (permanently) by writing to the EEPROM. For me it worked the first time and accepted FS modules.

    Used for pfSense Core Router/Firewall on an AM4 system (Gigabyte Aorus Pro B450) and it accepted both the GPON ONT/ONT SFP module from FS and an SFP+ LP/UPC Multimode transceiver for optics in the local network.
