The optical construction comprises 8 elements in 7 groups, including one ED element and 3 aspherical glass elements. The Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) optimizes light transmission and reduces flare and ghosting. The 9 aperture blades form a circular opening when the aperture is stopped down. The body is made of aluminum alloy, and the detachable lens hood helps block unwanted light.
