Tasos Kyriakidis was born in Perivleptos, Drama, in 1945, to refugee parents from Agriopoli in Pontus and settled in Thessaloniki during his childhood. He graduated from the 3rd Gymnasium (Lyceum) for Boys in Thessaloniki and the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He is a member of the Patriarchal Foundation for Patristic Studies, a member of the "Committee for Pontian Studies," a member of "Panagia Soumela," a member of the "Macedonian Studies Society," as well as other spiritual and social organizations. He has served as president and member of the boards of directors of Pontian associations and organizations, president of the Board of Directors of the Association of Publishers of Thessaloniki, and vice president of the Panhellenic Association of Scientific Book Publishers.
He is also an honorary member of the Pan-Macedonian Association of Canada, the Literary, Historical, and Literary Association of Trikala, and the Pontic Club of Kastoria. He has served as a member of the Board of the National Library of Greece.
His main interest is the study of the history of Modern Hellenism, and his collections of engravings by foreign travelers in Greek areas, both unliberated and free (from the 17th century onwards), and coins from Pontus from Antiquity and Byzantine times are considered among the most significant.
