I needed to use it with mac and it was not possible in the beginning, as the data on it allowed the usage only for chromebook and windows devices. After registration on seagate page and reading their FAQs I have found the solution but it took me some time until I could use the product. After using it a while with my MAC I am satisfied. But no easy start. The price of course is unbeatable.

I have had it for about two months and it has developed bad sectors. I lost important work that was stored on it! At the moment, I am writing this in a data recovery company

The disk has been in my possession for 1 year and 8 months and was purchased for about 87 euros. It is beautiful, in a practical size, quite silent, transfers data quite well, and is durable, in the sense that it fell once on the floor but didn't suffer any damage. On the other hand, its cable is not of the highest quality, it has already been replaced, but that is the least of it. Recommended!

UPDATE: After just one year, I experienced serious glitches, issues, and failures in reading/copying, so it's going for replacement before the content is permanently lost.

I would not recommend it for backing up important data. From the first use, during the transfer of several GB, I heard the familiar "click" of hard drive mechanics that signals the beginning of the end...

Fast transfer for the average user who will use it for back-up, lightweight and without problems after three months of use. For €95 (Nov 2020) that I bought it, I don't think a better price/performance ratio can be found. Of course, hard drives are judged by their durability over time. We shall see...

I used it as an external on my PS4 and it works perfectly as an expansion. Excellent disk. USB 3.0 speeds, 4TB, 100% value for money.

I have him permanently on android tv, he is fast and does not overheat. When I only connect him to a computer, it takes a while to recognize him, but after that, he works perfectly fine!

It was purchased just yesterday (11/18/2019). It was bought as a backup, which means it won't be used much, but occasionally. As a first impression, it gives the feeling of a cheap mediocre product, due to its casing (I have seen much better and more compact ones). The second negative was that it did not disconnect (safe remove) even though the copying had finished. I will come back after a period of using it.

Small, convenient, quiet, fast! You don't want anything else!
I was really impressed with its size. The speed of the USB 3 when transferring data from and to the computer is amazing! Just to give you an idea, I transferred 4 3D movies, each ranging from 18 to 24GB, simultaneously from the computer and they were transferred to the disk in 5 minutes!
I'm saving money and getting a second one soon!

Regarding this specific external hard drive:
- Its net capacity is 3.63 TB. I would say it's decent.
- It is completely silent.
- It is as fast as a USB 3.0 external hard drive could be.
- It is almost twice as thick as my 1 TB Toshiba and slightly longer. However, I believe it's completely reasonable since it has four times the capacity.
- The build quality is simply good, nothing more, nothing less. I wouldn't characterize it as durable against drops, although I don't think an external hard drive is intended for such use.
- It is quite attractive and elegant.
- Its price is very satisfactory considering everything this product offers.
- In its category, I believe it is an excellent choice!

It is extended storage on the PS4 Pro. It is lightly loaded up to now, about 2 TB. It is quite fast and durable and generally quiet. It is better not to be on top of the PS4, but next to it to induce heat. It's great. Good price, good space. Go ahead and get it without fear. The total capacity is 3.6 TB. After formatting.

I use it as external storage for my PS4. It is quite fast and does the job. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Speed very good, one video copied with 130MB/s and another with 110MB/s. The file I have copied with 79MB/s. As for durability, I don't know, I bought it yesterday.

Update after two years:
Since it is 3/4 full, the copying speed is at 90MB/s. Nothing has happened with moderate use.

Quite silent and fast, but somewhere it should say that it is a raid due to its size, I have both the 1tb and the 4tb is twice as big. Finally, mine had a two-year data rescue gift where they send an external one if something happens and they save your files + a new hard drive.

Same disk as the corresponding back up plus, but without the back up software.
Fast in file transfer and silent.
