I had a previous experience with an interface, specifically the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2, which I bought second-hand from a friend during the quarantine, along with a pair of Dynaudio BM5 active speakers (which I had for my house in the countryside to listen to music from my PC). Since I was also transferring vinyl records to 24/192 high-resolution files on my system in Athens with the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2, and in order not to move the Scarlet 2i2 to the countryside, I bought the Behringer UMC202HD to use as a DAC and listen to music in the countryside through the Dynaudio BM5 speakers. I received it in March 2023. The sound reproduction compared to the Scarlet 2i2 was a bit more dynamic, but the sound with these particular speakers had a slight dryness. The Scarlet 2i2 was a bit more musical and enjoyable, but the Behringer UMC202HD was marginally more transparent.
This September 2025, I tried the Behringer UMC202HD for recording vinyl records into 24/192 high-resolution files (on my system in Athens). Here, the card was a REVELATION!!! I recorded one specific track (the first one from the Plan 9 - Anytime Anyplace Anywhere vinyl) with both cards (Scarlet 2i2 and Behringer) at 24bit/192Mhz. I immediately compared these files from my PC (Flac) by playing them through my system MUSICAL FIDELITY V-LINK 192 (USB TO AES-EBU CONVERTER) - DCS PAGANINI DAC - KRELL FPB300CX AMPLIFIER AND B&W 802 D2 SPEAKERS, with playback from the turntable of the specific vinyl.
The file from the Behringer was INCREDIBLY close to the original sound of the vinyl. It was very difficult and a tiring process to find differences. In contrast, the file from the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 was indeed very musical but at the same time rounder and less clear than the original sound of the vinyl. The difference was small but easier to spot.
Incredible results for a card that costs half as much as the very good Focusrite Scarlet 2i2.
Since the beginning of February, I have also bought a second Behringer UMC202HD (I have sold the Focusrite and the Dynaudio BM5 speakers) and I use it at my house in the countryside with the Adam T5V active speakers.
I am very satisfied. Excellent tool for serious and almost 100% faithful vinyl transfers and for this use I recommend it 1000%!!!
I have no experience with voice/instrument recording.

I got this specific one for a supporting console for a Condenser microphone that needed phantom power to work properly. Its own phantom power (in kit form) was a disaster. I learned my lesson.

This particular model has a 48V phantom power with the press of a button. In addition, it has dual microphone ports, which is great for podcasting, which is what I want it for. It has separate controls for each microphone, as well as a very useful headphone jack with its own volume control, and, unbelievably, direct monitoring. That means you can hear your voice through the headphones as you speak into the microphone, without any delay.

I use it with a Mac Mini via USB, without the need for additional drivers, just plug and play. I think for Windows, you need to download some drivers from the Behringer website. Also, I registered the console on the manufacturer's website and downloaded the full suite of Waveform 11 for free, an excellent audio editing program and more.
