The new map of Parnassus is released at a scale of 1:35,000 and combines the virtues of both previous parallel editions, 1:25,000 and 1:50,000, which are now discontinued.
No matter how much one looks back into the past, Parnassus has always been one of the most emblematic mountains in Greece. The Oracle of Delphi, the Corycian Cave, the remnants of the fortifications of Lilaias or Tithorea, the inn of Gravia, the cave of Androutsos, are some of the significant historical markers of this place.
From the cosmopolitan Arachova to the solitary trails of Western Parnassus, many and - sometimes - contradictory worlds compose the mountainous ensemble of Parnassus. Its proximity to the capital and the variety of activities it offers make it particularly popular, even for day trips.
It is the mountain for skiing, but also for major hiking crossings, even by bike or mountain running. In fact, since 2008, the mountain running race "Parnassus Trail" has been organized in Amfikleia, and once the snow melts, the ski slopes become cycling routes.
In an effort to preserve its unique landscape, it was declared a National Park in 1938, the second oldest after Olympus.
