The game is a spin-off of the Jak and Daxter series and focuses on the character Daxter, whom players take on as the protagonist. The story is set between the events of the first and second games in the series, with Daxter taking on the role of insect exterminator in the city of Haven City, while also trying to rescue his friend, Jak.
