The RBC7 is a very powerful battery. It's not worth paying for the premium of the original if you know or want to bother setting it up yourself.

It was purchased for the UPS APC SMT1500I. The one that was inside the UPS lasted 7 years 6/2014 - 6/2021 with relatively few power outages. For the first replacement, I decided to get the genuine one since it is plug & play and I won't need to connect 2x 12V/17Ah, get the cables and the fuse from the old one, connect them to the new ones, etc. Opening the old one in the middle confirmed what I already knew, that it consists of 2 CSB GP12170 batteries (I am attaching a photo) with the APC logo on the outside. Essentially, what you are paying extra for is the packaging, logos, and manuals of APC. It is also assumed that APC performs some quality testing and there is a corresponding certification with the signature of an APC technician in the packaging. I don't know if APC uses a "better" batch of CSB batteries for its own batteries compared to those in the market, although I doubt it. However, I don't think it's worth paying an extra +150€ for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

3 stars only for the price. As a product, it is of high quality. A homemade product at 1/5 of the price lasts 2/3 of the duration cycle
