Yuasa NP24-12 VRLA Battery: The Yuasa NP24-12 12V 24Ah battery is of AGM type and is suitable for discharge at a large percentage of its capacity. It is fully rechargeable and designed for long-term durability.

AGM-type VRLA batteries are not designed for engine starting or prolonged high current pumping.

The deep discharge capability is due to the thick lead plates, which are resistant to corrosion. Due to the fully sealed construction and recombination of gases within the cells, the battery requires almost no maintenance and can be placed in any position (excluding continuous use with the battery inverted).

VRLA batteries are multifunctional and suitable for cyclic or service applications. They are ideal for UPS, alarm systems, telephone centers, telecommunications, and many other industrial applications.

  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units
  • Electric vehicles

This particular one has been powering a car alarm siren since 08/2016 and it's still working perfectly. They are likely more expensive because they are sealed and can't be compared in terms of quality with other batteries, only through usage. You simply buy it and forget about it for many years. Edit: as of 9/8/23, it's still performing flawlessly
