I got it for the country house, meaning 2 months of use per year. It didn't take long for the remote control to "act up" and I bought a new one so as not to deal with the warranty and I expected it. Later, the power supply burned out and gave up the ghost, and again I bought a new one. Neither the menu is worth it nor the media player. Money wasted and far from EDISION. Clearly, the F&U ones that I had are better in these aspects, more well-designed and user-friendly (although, like anything from F&U, they break down 3-4 months after the warranty expires).

Regarding the comment about not recognizing Greek subtitles:
It does recognize them, as long as they have UTF-8 encoding (on a PC, open the srt file with Notepad as text, click "save as" and select "encoding" UTF-8 and save it). Most decoders can display Greek subtitles this way.

One major advantage as a media player is that it plays hevc h.265 files. There are other devices with "265" in their model name, but that only refers to the decoding of DVB-T2 signals and not the playback of video files encoded with the h.265 codec.

    Update on the review:

Unfortunately, my device also experiences the freezing issue mentioned by other users while watching channels at unexpected times. For about 4-5 seconds, the image suddenly starts to freeze and play in slow motion. It happens at least once every 1-2 hours, which means that if you sit down to watch a full TV show, it will definitely happen and annoy you. It is truly unacceptable for a TV receiver that has ONE main job and fails to do it correctly.
I contacted the company, reported the problem, told them that I found similar reports on various sites, and asked them to send me older firmwares to try. They only replied that they have no report from another user and didn't even mention sending another firmware. So, their customer service is non-existent. Congratulations...

I tried what one user suggested, changing the display setting to 1080p 60, but changing the framerate creates visible trembling in the image (expected since this frequency does not correspond to the PAL system but to NTSC), so it is not acceptable. For the record, I tried all the options, at 25 and 50 fps there were freezes, and at 30 and 60 there was trembling.

As for its performance as a media player:
The subtitles do not allow any adjustment whatsoever. They have a specific size, color, and position. They are large, slightly bigger than they should be, and "break" many lines in the last word, resulting in subtitles with three or four lines (which hide half of the screen). They should definitely have at least one more option for a slightly smaller size (ideally three lines, like most receivers). Also, they are displayed slightly lower than they should be. The only good thing is that they are clear, with an outline that makes them stand out even when the image is very bright.

    Overall conclusion:
Stay away, because as I mentioned above, it does not function properly in its basic intended use.

This is a very bad receiver as I bought 3 Edision Proton T265 receivers within a 4-month period and one of them did not turn on after one month. The others sometimes display the image in slow motion and I have to change the channel to fix it. Regarding the first problem with the receiver that didn't turn on, I had a phone conversation with the company as the receiver was still under warranty. It was then discovered that as far as product warranties are concerned, EDISION does not provide any customer service after purchase for any problems encountered. The company's staff is generally abrupt and unwilling during phone conversations and they do not care to ensure that the customer finds a solution to the problem they are facing. They constantly make excuses and never admit the flaws of their products in order to avoid taking responsibility towards the customer. Finally, they recommend that the customer contact the purchasing store to send the faulty product to the company, as the customer cannot take any action and send it themselves. This means that for a purchase of the receiver from Skroutz, in case of damage or defects within the warranty period, the customer is responsible for the shipping costs of sending the receiver back to the store, so that the store can then send it to the company. For these reasons, considering the flaws of the receiver and the nonexistent technical support I received from this particular company, I do not recommend buying this specific receiver or any EDISION products.

As a media player, I would not recommend it to anyone because it simply does not support Greek subtitles. Also, many times it can play the same movie, but it may not recognize the file type. (It displays a message saying unsupported file), and it's the same file that it played normally just a moment ago!!! Also, sometimes on TV channels it "plays" in slow motion and you have to change the channel for it to return to normal. Overall, it's not worth its money. Also, the behavior from the company's side is extremely disappointing. Excuses and no recognition of the device's weaknesses. I regret spending the 40€.
