STOCKMANN: The majority can never be right. Never, do you hear?! It’s one of the social lies that every free-thinking person must shake off. What does the majority of residents in a country consist of? Smart people or fools? I think we can agree that fools make up the large mass on earth.

But, damn it, never and nowhere can the fools govern the smart! STOCKMANN: I bet that tonight all the messengers of Hell will come from here! But I will sharpen my pen, I will make it a deadly weapon. I will dip it in poison - pure bile - and I will drive it straight into their skulls!
