Description

Description

It can drive a 2-phase stepper motor, a 4-phase stepper motor, or two DC motors. Built-in 78M05, it receives power from the drive power, however, when the drive power exceeds 12V, use the external 5V power as a power supply.

Very good implementation according to the L298N datasheet. Be careful, it has bridged enables, so it heats up during continuous operation and burns out after a day or two. You need to remove the bridges (jumpers) in order for it to work properly. However, this requires three signals for controlling each motor. I don't give it five stars because the current sensing function is not implemented on pins 1 and 15 of the L289N, which is a very useful function for motor protection. Also, don't forget to remove the bridge for the automatic 5V power supply from the motor's operating voltage if you want to drive motors with 24V or higher, as the 7805 regulator gets overheated. In this case, after removing the bridge, you will need to apply a separate external 5V voltage for the logic signals.
