You can comfortably carry your 4 bikes. It just doesn't inspire confidence because the whole rack along with the bikes moves a lot. That is, I wouldn't dare to take a long trip with the rack and the bikes. My personal opinion. Nothing significant has happened when I transport them, it just shakes a lot.

Sturdy base capable of safely carrying 4 bicycles. I have put 4 mountain bikes on it and it was fine. The only downside is that it secures to the towbar with a large screw, it doesn't just "click" like other Thule models. Expect to spend 3 minutes putting it on and the same amount of time taking it off. Oh, and it's somewhat heavy construction. A positive aspect is that by loosening the side screws by hand, the base tilts and opens the trunk.

Perfect base, it has approval as a material, now for the approval of transportation for a bike base there is no base, only for a trailer you need to obtain a towing license to justify the towbar. For a bike base, it is not necessary because it does not protrude at a long distance from the car, you just need to remove the towbar when you don't have bikes on it, after all, this also applies to trailers now.

Nice... Good... gold... good for its price, sturdy and safe for travel, but if it doesn't have a conformity document (approved component type approval) for the ministry in order to justify the towbar (like me, who got caught by the police and surely hundreds more) and I wonder how it is still being sold, what's the use of it... 4 stars minus for this and unfortunately I can't take them all off. Plus the financial damage, towbar + base. Stay away...
Approval is needed as mentioned in the circular with protocol number 170251/25-06-21, so that you can understand.
You will need, in other words, a dealership or distributor certificate and an approval certificate in order to obtain a new license that justifies the use of the towbar.

I have it for 5 years. Very satisfied. Very easy and quick installation, with just one large screw. And even if you take the bikes down for half an hour, you unscrew it, put it in the car and reposition it afterwards. At first, precisely because it relies on only one point, it gives you the feeling that it may not withstand, but it has no problem at all. It has been on many long trips with 4 bikes on top, it doesn't create any concern. If you put 4 bikes, you need to be careful to alternate their placement because the handlebars come very close. If you put only 2 or 3 bikes, you place them more loosely.

Very easy to install, quickly goes in and out.
Positive that it "breaks" in slope when empty to open the trunk.
I had trouble correctly fitting bikes of different sizes, the larger ones fit fine while the smaller ones require some tricks.
I'm worried about how long the huge screw that secures the base to the towbar will hold up over time.
Overall, the impression for Thule quality / money / 4 bikes is positive
