Description

Description

A rich collection of lives of well-known, as well as lesser-known saints and martyrs, accompanied by their hymns. Among them are many new martyrs. A work - a valuable aid in our daily lives.

The book is the result of the efforts of Father Dionysios Tambakis (Prayer Book for Special Occasions), while the editing of the texts has been undertaken by Dimitra Stavrou.

From the preface of the book: - Esteemed Professor, after so many decades in the universities and in theological studies, what is ultimately the message of life that you have gained? This is the question I posed to the blessed theology professor Stylianos Papadopoulos (+Monk Gerasimos), when a long time ago, on a Sunday morning, he visited our church in Nafplio. And he confidently and simply replied: - We must love the saints! Let us make them our friends, for through them we see Jesus Christ Himself.

And indeed, the saints function as divine mirrors. In them, you see the beauty and greatness of our Christ and yearn for Paradise. Like an old family photograph that brings back memories and nostalgia. The saints are friends and kin of God, but also our own.
