Description

Description

The Vengeance LPX is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Vengeance LPX provides a speed of 3200MT/s, with CL16 and 8GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available in certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The Vengeance LPX (XMP 2.0) profile with performances:

  • Speed (XMP 2.0): 3200 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP 2.0): 16-18-18-36
  • Voltage (XMP 2.0): 1.35V

Cooling & Design

The aluminum construction material combined with the memory height of 34mm, which is an ideal size to fit large CPU coolers, helps to keep the memory and the entire computer at a fairly low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

In Asrock B450 Fatality / Ryzen 2200G, they were immediately recognized, the XMP Profile was enabled, and they run at the declared frequency steadily and with very good performance.

I haven't been able to overclock the frequency above 3200MHz and keep them stable, but the timings (CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-CR) can easily be lowered from 16-18-18-36-2 to around 15-16-16-34-1, which is about a 5% increase, which is not bad at all. They have served me well for everyday use, gaming, and more.

Very good product. Having used several RAM sticks in the past, Corsair's LPX is much better and reliable. It hits 3200 MHz on most motherboards (but it would be good to check its compatibility with your motherboard) as well as on mine with D.O.C.P
