First presentation - analysis of a very rare trilingual dictionary of the 18th century in Greece.
It speaks as native languages Greek, Koutsovlach and Albanian. [...] The enthusiasm of Thunmann in 1774 and the satisfaction expressed in turn by Picot, Miklosich and Meyer, which was so great, as much as the Dictionaries of Kavalliotis and Daniil helped them in the explanation of the two problems, which had previously been examined little, namely the origin of the Koutsovlachs and the Albanian issue. Thus, Kavalliotis is placed among the forerunners of comparative linguistics by origin, and it is proven once again how much he was influenced by the philosophical ideas of Leibnitz. Thus arose Kavalliotis' trilingual Dictionary, which, among other things, has the following advantage of equality of the contained languages, which was previously unknown. The holy language "limba cea sfanta" of Greece appears alongside the barbaric languages of the Albanians, Koutsovlachs, and Bulgarians. This subsequently had real value in the genesis of national ideology, which was to shake the Balkan peoples from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century."
"It is now a unique phenomenon that the rarity of these books is observed only in those included in the Index of the Vatican. [...] Kavalliotis' work has only one known copy, which was recently [1895] discovered by Meyer."
