The Snugpak Ionosphere tent is a low-profile, double-wall tent designed for one person and mountaineering use. The No-See-Um Mesh inner can also be used on its own as a shelter in warmer months, while the hoop design helps reduce condensation. The flysheet has a polyurethane coating and taped seams, and the entrance is at the front with a porch.

The poles are made of anodised DAC Featherlite NSL aluminium with press-fit joints. The interior has ten mesh gear pockets, five on each side, and a hanging loop at the head end.
