The focus of the book is on the analysis and understanding of the evolving conditions as well as the social security policies implemented in Greece, in order to highlight the degree of convergence between the "economic" and the "social" aspects of the reproductive function, combined with the level of collective and social responsibility that has developed in the provision of social services in our country.

The book aims to analyze the current unfavorable and deadlock situation of the Social Security System (SSS), as it has been shaped particularly by the implementation (2010-2016) of the memorandum policies, as well as to formulate, with actuarial documentation, alternative policies for the long-term economic viability and social effectiveness of the SSS, so that social security can enter the 2020s strong and capable of absorbing, among other things, the consequences of adverse (baby boom) demographic developments.
