The lens is worthy of the name Nitecore!! It is truly powerful, convenient to hold, and not very battery-consuming. I use it with an LG HG2 battery (brown), but with a magnet attachment on the positive end because it is flat top, while the lens requires bottom top. It has dual springs for shock absorption, for example, for use with a weapon. It has an easy-to-use UI, with red, blue, and UV LEDs. The UV is useful for checking counterfeit banknotes and bodily fluid traces, the blue for blood, and the red for coverage/concealment lighting. Personally, I find the high mode of 250 lumens ideal as it provides a lot of light and "burns" a little. To give you an idea, it can cover a football field in complete darkness just for fun (tested), and in another case, in 80% humidity, you can see with the turbo mode between trees across a field 390 meters away (tested). Now that it's cold, I haven't noticed significant temperatures even with the turbo mode, and it cools down quite quickly. A big plus is the USB port for charging with a smartphone/tablet charger, which most of us have, and it also has a blue indicator LED inside the top buttons, regardless of the fact that I have an Li-ion charger. You simply don't have to go through the process of screwing/unscrewing and you can charge it in the car with the cigarette lighter USB. You should watch videos on YouTube for a detailed demonstration for better understanding. It's worth the hundred bucks and more... ideal for the car for beacon and strobe red/blue functions in case of an accident at night... you will definitely make your presence known to other drivers!!!
