5 stars due to price. It is one of those games that you will either love or hate. From the beginning, I played this game constantly losing because it doesn't progress normally like its similar ones in the same style (see Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Sekiro, etc). You have to level up the game's hero to stabilize the difficulty a bit. This becomes a bit boring because at first, you are just farming. All good games of their style with many areas, enemies, bosses... But understandably, anyone who doesn't have the patience to play them is justified.

Playful in the style of soulsborne. Nice graphics, very beautiful landscapes, and fast gameplay. Many, many hours until you see the end credits. Highly recommended for those who enjoy soulsborne-type games with ancient Japan lore. It is considerably more difficult than the aforementioned games, but the effort is worth it. Personally, I am not a fan of such games, but I really enjoyed it. Now, as for the world, it is not open world, but it has levels. The only slightly annoying thing is that some side missions are located in levels that you have played before, but with different enemies. However, in games of this style, farming is necessary, so it is an alternative to constantly returning to the same environment and seeing the same enemies over and over again. Sorry for the spoiler, but I think the potential buyer should know. At the price it is currently available, it is definitely worth it because it is a game that will keep you hooked for a long time. I hope I helped.

It is a game with relatively mediocre graphics, mediocre to poor player handling, exhausting difficulty for an average player, and poor save management (no autosave and it often sets you back quite a bit). The bosses require special treatment and a lot of patience. Those who enjoy games with samurais and fighters will like the game, as it has its own philosophy. If it had been worked on individually in certain areas to make it more accessible (so as not to tire you out so much to progress) and had slightly better handling, it would have been considerably better.

Game that I had my eye on and found an excuse to buy, it's a mix of Dark Souls and Witcher, atmospheric, with nice music, nice story, nice gameplay and long in duration.
I found it challenging like in Dark Souls due to the different controls, but also with player development through leveling, it requires a lot of exploration and has great depth in how you evolve your player depending on your playstyle.
During boss fights, I had the same adrenaline rush that I had in the aforementioned games and of course, I got my butt kicked.

The game has a masterpiece gameplay and immerses you in a captivating Japanese lore. It is quite difficult until you learn it, it has a lot of action, character development with an infinite RPG inventory, and the story progress takes you through all of Japan and is divided into sections of levels where each one ends with a difficult boss. A lot of Japanese folklore culture, samurais, ninjas, and a bit of anime. You put it at 60FPS, it runs smoothly, nice graphics, no loading time. Great replay value since Team Ninja has created a game that constantly increases the level cap and improves your character in the next ng+ playthroughs, while the multiplayer among other things has co-op and PvP options. And in the important question of comparison, it is light years ahead of the overrated Souls and Bloodborne games that seem like slow motion compared to Nioh. Expect 100 hours of smart and high-quality gameplay.

Did you like Ninja Gaiden? Get it now!
Some compare it to soul games.
It doesn't have the graphics of Bloodborne and DS3. Nor the fear of dying 10 meters away. Souls games are "darkness". But we really like them, of course.
Nioh is different. It has sooo many items, with sooo many weapons, with sooo many upgrades, with sooo many hours of gameplay, with a bunch of moves for each type of weapon.
Sword, double sword, spear, sickle and chain, axe, hammer.
    And bow, gun, cannon, etc.
    Lots of magic. Everything fits.
At first, the first level was so-so for me. It takes time to learn. It's difficult and impressive. You will definitely be satisfied. I wonder why there are so few reviews.
Also, a very good price. It may have been underestimated because it is aimed at fans of samurai and ninja in Japan. Actually, anyone who wants a challenging action game and not a fluffy one should see it. It's Team Ninja.

I completed the game in about 2 months. The rich world and excellent gameplay kept my interest unchanged, but it wasn't enough to make me want to replay it again. Maybe it's because of the relatively mediocre graphics (for a game in 2017), maybe it's because of the limited number of weapons (basically, you collect the same weapons but upgraded). The purchase is recommended, but not unconditionally. (4 out of 5 from me).

From me, 10/10! I had missed Japan Samurai themed games for a while now, and this one nails it perfectly!
    Atmosphere!
    Gameplay!
    Duration!
    Soundtrack!
The more you play, the more mechanics you learn!
Inspired by the Souls games, as the developers said, with many alternative additions to the gameplay.
It's definitely worth it, especially for Hardcore RPG lovers.

Guys, out of the few games that are worth every last euro, this one is difficult but the more you get used to it, the more you will learn and progress. I am an average player and imagine that on the first demon, I couldn't even beat the boss after about 20 tries. But now, after learning it, I have defeated about 10 bosses all by myself.

The secret is to play defensively as much as you can and learn the enemy's moves approximately. From there, if you upgrade your weapons, magic, and armor, you'll be fine.

Just a note, I have never played any Souls games.

From me, take it without fear if you want to engage with a game for a long time and not just throw it away in 2 days and let it collect dust on the shelf.

    Chills with all the meaning!!!
Adrenaline at its peak from the beginning of the game. A fantastic and amazing souls game from Team Ninja without copying from software's game, a unique experience for all those who want to push their limits in gaming and endurance. From me, it is recommended with closed eyes to all those who endure and persist for something more. 10 from me....

Fantastic game... if you like souls/bloodborne, you will definitely get hooked... okay, it doesn't have the beauty and art of souls, but it has much better combat and greater depth in weapons/magic, etc... it also runs at 60fps (on PS4 PRO, I think on regular too...) and has much longer duration... over 100 hours with the side missions...

Here we have the Epic of 2017 and in my opinion, the strongest exclusive of the PS4. Team Ninja did their miracle and gave us a game that lasts about 100 hours! A game that requires persistence and patience because it is quite challenging, especially for those who haven't played Souls games. The game is unfair several times and requires strategy, especially in the incredible Boss Fights where adrenaline hits red! When I say unfair, I mean that sometimes one hit is enough to bring you down. The zero loading time is an extra advantage! The Co Op is also very good and may help some people to complete some very difficult missions. In my opinion, Nioh is the ultimate game of 2017 for Hardcore Gamers!

After the fast-paced battle of Nioh, the Souls games give you the impression that you are playing in tar and pitch. In reality, however, they are completely different games.
Nioh has action and missions. All weapons have impressive moves and plenty of tactics.
There are weapons, magic (many and not just green-red-blue rays), ninja gadgets, unlockable moves, crafting, changing the appearance of your equipment, it's chaos!
There is no right or wrong, everything depends on your performance, often changing weapons suits you better.
If you liked Ninja Gaiden, then think of it with mechanics and leveling from Souls and you have Nioh.
Amazing graphics, fitting slashing sound, simple level design, not on the level of Souls, but still good. Not an open world, but with missions.
Important: after each death, the loading is ZERO. (unlike other games)

The game is the best I have played in a year, addictive but not for everyone. I give it a 9 out of 10. This is my opinion.

  • Okay, it's not for everyone. Having played Bloodborne, I wanted another souls-like, but it's not the same

  • Not even funny. Outdated graphics in a souls game. Nice for some, but the tragically graphics ruined it for me. In other words, not even close.

  • 5 stars due to price.
