One of the biggest disappointments of 2017 in my opinion. I wanted to buy it straight away (since I had read that it resembles dark souls, which I love) and luckily I rented it and played it for about 10 hours with three different characters. The first stage excited me (London Tower) but unfortunately, that's just the introduction. The game actually starts after 1 to 1.30 hours. Unfortunately, after 10 hours, I got sick of it. The graphics are unacceptable for a game in 2017, especially as a PS4 exclusive. (I understand the genre of the game and that graphics are not the main focus, but on the other hand, look at the graphics of Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin... which is a game from 2014 that was upgraded in 2015). The main problem with the graphics and the aesthetics of the game is that I felt like I was playing with cartoons. Colors were popping out from everywhere and numbers without any reason. If you play for a couple of hours, you're on the verge of having a seizure. The camera doesn't have smooth movement at all (I don't mean speed, I mean smoothness), which creates dizziness and problems when playing in closed spaces (rooms, stairs, corridors, etc.). But the worst part was the gameplay. It has nothing to do with Souls and especially Bloodborne (a masterpiece!!!). It's terribly repetitive. It reminded me of God of War. Okay, they added three stances and everyone ends up playing with one (usually the low or medium). After a while, it really gets boring unless you like hack and slash... The weapons were a HUGE disappointment. If you play in the beginning, especially with the kusarigama, you're overpowered just by using its basic move in low stance... the other weapons are simply indifferent or even useless (like axes). There's no comparison to the variety of weapons and the feeling of accomplishment you get from Souls. The sound is indifferent to mediocre, as is the voice acting. The cut scenes were also a big disappointment, as you expect graphics from 2017 and end up feeling like you're watching PS3 graphics... Another element that some will love and others will hate is that the main in-game language is Japanese. Okay, purely a matter of taste. In summary, I would say that I have mixed feelings. I don't know if I should have dedicated more time, but on the other hand, if you have to play a game for more than 10 hours for it to start appealing to you... I don't know, it's too masochistic. I emphasize that the game is NOT Souls/Bloodborne. They have simply copied some elements, but it doesn't have the quality, variety, and greatness of Souls... What a shame...
