Description

The history of every sports team is intertwined with the vision, ideas, and personal journey of its founding members, the individuals who took the helm over time, the coaches and athletes who represented it in competitions, as well as the fans who bonded with it.

And the history of the Olympiacos Fans Club of Piraeus is closely connected to Piraeus, the port, and its people, as well as the city's sports tradition since the early 20th century. Through the choice of the name 'Olympiacos,' the founding members of the club aimed to signify athletic strength, noble competition, competitive passion, and fair victory through rivalry.

For this reason, the emblem of the 'laurel-crowned youth' Olympian was chosen to highlight all the noble elements and values that compose the Olympic ideal, develop through sports, and accompany young people throughout their lives. Even the two colors of Olympiacos, red and white, symbolize the values held by its founders and that they wished to pass on to the next generations of Piraeus.

Since the mid-1920s, hundreds of athletes have worn and honored the red-and-white jersey, conquering titles and trophies and writing the history of Olympiacos within the competition fields. This unique historical journey, from the 1920s to today, is documented without excess and exaggeration but with sensitivity and a research-oriented perspective on the small details behind the events and individuals that made the significant difference.

For those who were 'Forever Champions'... The edition you hold in your hands is a comprehensive work about Olympiacos. It is the third volume of the new series by SKAI-book, which aims to gradually cover the history of Greek athletics in Greece. It is yet another milestone in an undoubtedly exciting journey through the magic of sports.
