The Parthenon, a creation of the highest moment of Athenian Democracy, a work of the most famous politician of antiquity, Pericles, is an expression of the spirit of an era that science has named the "golden age" of ancient Greek history, an architectural, artistic, and ideological model for the entire civilized world.
In this edition, we attempted to provide an illustrated volume for the first time almost the entirety of the surviving sculptures of the Parthenon, primarily those located on the Acropolis, in the British Museum, and the Louvre, believing that it will serve as a handy tool for further research on this great masterpiece of sculpture.
