The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, which possesses rich archival material, has examined with great satisfaction the request from the Society for Macedonian Studies in Thessaloniki, stemming from the desire to present well-documented political processes in the Balkans after World War II.

Before the readers lies undoubtedly a valuable documented evidence, which is the result of research and collaboration among expert scholars and researchers regarding the issue of Greek-Yugoslav relations. This publication includes only a portion of the numerous documents, which reveal the complex and multifaceted processes in shaping Yugoslav and Greek policy regarding the Macedonian Issue.

The historical background and the birth of the individual processes in the Balkans are of essential importance for examining the current situation and possible directions for alleviating misunderstandings; through this, the spirit of cooperation and better mutual understanding, based on shared cultural and democratic values, is best reinforced.

Starting from this framework of values, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia expresses its gratitude to all those whose efforts made it possible to present these documents to the broader recognizing public and expresses its belief that cooperation with the Society for Macedonian Studies will continue to be more successful and fruitful in the future.
