Today I received the aforementioned adapter as I wanted to connect an old monitor that I have and currently use with an HDMI -> VGA adapter. In order to free up the HDMI port, since I plan on getting another monitor, I bought this adapter so that the digital signal can be converted from DVI-D to analog VGA.

On one hand, as soon as I connected the adapter to the graphics card, the computer immediately shut down. On the other hand, after connecting the monitor to the adapter and the adapter to the graphics card, I turned on the computer and the screen was flickering. Whenever the image appeared, it was in shades of blue, and of course, it would then turn off.

Unfortunately, this is the second adapter that presents similar problems to me. I know that it is not my fault because I have tested other monitors directly from DVI-D to DVI-D connection and they work fine. I have also tried other VGA cables and I face the same issues. The monitor itself cannot be the problem since it works normally when it is not connected to the adapter.

Now I am in search of a good DVI-D (male) -> VGA (female) adapter.
