In the context of my postgraduate courses in the field of "Practical Theology," I was given many stimuli to engage with and deepen my understanding of various educational topics related to Orthodox Christian education.
Ultimately, after encouragement from my professor, Mr. Ioannis Kogoulis, I chose the topic of the pedagogy of Elder Paisios. A determining factor in this choice was the great resonance that Elder Paisios' works have among a large segment of the world.
Moreover, the abundance of translations of Paisios is an undeniable and tangible reality that evokes emotion and awe at how people find comfort, spiritual relief, and guidance through the works of simple yet, thanks to their divine inspiration, great contemporary spiritual figures, such as in the case of Elder Paisios.
This work addresses this aspect of Paisios' work for the first time, which is where its originality lies, as it presents, interprets, and systematizes the pedagogical thought of the Elder regarding the child, as well as the agents that express and promote it, as it is formulated and scattered throughout his works.
