The publication of this album, curated by the IE of the Central Committee of the KKE, aims to rekindle interest in the history of the Communist International, to provide information, archival and photographic documents useful for acquiring historical knowledge and developing revolutionary working-class, communist consciousness.
Many aspects of proletarian internationalism, the unified action of communist parties around the world, which involved organizing aid for persecuted communists and supporting strike struggles, the publishing activities of the CI, the organization of training schools for cadres with the revolutionary theory of Marxism-Leninism, and the operation of information and journalistic networks, remain unknown or forgotten.
A special place in the activities of the CI was occupied by the struggle for equality and the emancipation of female workers and women from popular strata, led by the revolutionary female cadres of the CI. The same applies to the activities of the Communist Youth International as a part of the CI. Noteworthy is also the support of struggling poor farmers at an international level.
The materials published in this album are almost unknown (unpublished) in Greece. The main objective of this album is to present the most powerful moments of the international revolutionary action of the proletariat. The struggle of communists for the overthrow of capitalism and the construction of socialism has deep roots in the struggle of the working class in all countries of the world.
The counter-revolutionary victory and capitalist restoration, the deep opportunistic erosion and crisis of the communist movement do not erase from history the achievements of the revolutionary struggle, which is a valuable legacy for a dynamic reorganization and counteroffensive.
In this publication, each chapter begins with a text-guide for the time period or topic related to the images and certain documents of the period. The events are presented in chronological order, while a series of organizations or activities connected to the CI are presented in separate subsections, along with a brief "biography."
