Description & Specifications

From the time he lived, and even after his death, Dimitris Pikionis (1887-1968) was an exceptionally complex and contradictory personality, capable of enchanting those who approached him, while also provoking strong reactions from those who happened to disagree with him.

This created a "Pikionis issue," which hindered the sober appreciation of his contribution. Anyone today who wishes to engage with Pikionis will need to move in two directions: to verify the validity of the previously cautious stance towards him or even its rejection, and, most importantly, to demonstrate that Pikionis is a significant force in the contemporary dialogue on architecture in Greece.

This opportunity arises with the chance discovery of two recorded lectures by Pikionis at the School of Architects of the Polytechnic in 1965, which until now had remained unpublished.
