[...] With this effort, I return and dedicate for the first time a special monograph to the frescoes of the chapel of Agios Efthymios. In this monograph, which is accompanied by 195 color photographs and 33 drawings, the entirety of the chapel's frescoes is presented and a re-evaluation of the iconographic program, the iconography of the representations, as well as an assessment of the art of the frescoes is made, which I connect with the frescoes of the Protaton church in Mount Athos. At the same time, in a special chapter, I refer to the history of the research and the problem of the artist's identity, in which I recognize the "shining Manuel Panselenos from Thessaloniki". [...]
