The author of this book does not limit himself to ancient Greek sources. He also mentions the presentation of Eudoxus’s work in mathematics and astronomy made by the great historians of science in the 19th and 20th centuries, a fact that gives a particular completeness to the book.

The eminent scholar Eudoxus, in addition to mathematics and astronomy, was engaged in meteorology, physics, music, and medicine. He is considered one of the greatest mathematicians of all time, on par with the great Archimedes. Thus, this current edition is monumental.
