Description

Description

Mathematical paradoxes, beyond their entertaining nature, also serve as an important factor in understanding various mathematical concepts and statements. At many recent international conferences on mathematics education, presentations have been made regarding the significance of the "paradox" as a focal point of mathematical interest for the corresponding teaching unit.

Mathematical games and logic games provide a pleasant engagement that directs thought down the paths of mathematical reasoning. This book is divided into two parts. Part A contains mathematical paradoxes, and Part B contains mathematical games and logic games.

The mathematical paradoxes included relate to Algebra, Number Theory, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mathematical Analysis, Analytical Geometry and Vector Calculus, Matrices, Sets, and Probability. The mathematical games and logic games cover a wide range of reasoning.

Many of the topics included stem from our teaching experience, while some originate from old and contemporary related literature. The book contains a total of 365 topics that spark the reader's interest and encourage them to summon their knowledge, imagination, experience, judgment, and memory.

It was deemed appropriate to provide the correct answer right below each topic so that the reader is not troubled by flipping through pages and references.

We thank mathematicians Antonios Zervoudakis and Anastasios Rallis, as well as Giannis Tasoulas, a student from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Piraeus, for their assistance in proofreading the samples.
