The book is divided into three chapters. The first chapter contains information about the life and work of Hipparchus and the various editions of the present work.

The second chapter contains the ancient Greek text, while the third contains the translation into modern Greek with necessary clarifications and comments.

The undersigned feels particularly pleased because for the first time a work of the great Hipparchus is being published in modern Greece. This edition also allows for the presentation for the first time of paragraphs from lost works of the great Eudoxus and the very esteemed astronomer Attalus of Rhodes.

It was deemed appropriate in the translation of the text into modern Greek to retain the ancient Greek names of the constellations and stars.
