This translation, in free verse, is the result of years of collaboration and effort. We made sure it stays close to the ancient text and has rhythm.

We preferred free verse because it is perhaps the only form of contemporary poetic language; moreover, it facilitates the unfolding of all the expressive possibilities of today's modern Greek language.

However, there is a correspondence of the verses of the translation to the verses of the original, except for a few cases. We also aimed for it to be comprehensible, clear, without idiomatic expressions.

It includes all the verses of the Iliad.
