This edition represents the first comprehensive and extensive presentation of the artistic contribution of Kostis [Konstantinos] Parthenis, which remains, to this day, only fragmentarily known, both to the broader art-loving public, to which this volume is primarily addressed, and to the small scientific community of art historians in Greece.

The painter, with his tumultuous yet legendary life, and with an even more complex artistic creation, which during his time emerged as a leading and exemplary figure, was one of the most significant creators of Greek art, with an undoubtedly decisive presence for the overall evolution of the visual arts in our country.
