The exploration of trends in contemporary theatrical writing and the presentation of new authors and texts is the goal of the Readings, of the Theatrical Anomaly set up at the Experimental Stage of the National Theater.
The Readings introduce themselves from their title: they are organized with a focus on the reading of the text, thus emphasizing theatrical language, which they (re)present as the core of the theatrical act, using minimal elements of a complete presentation.
In this way, they constitute a theatrical hint, an initial version - a "promise" of performance. The works differ in their theatrical structure and development, style and writing language, bearing different social backgrounds and references, but share a common thematic axis of violence in its various forms and expressions: psychological, ideological, physical or verbal violence, passive violence exercised against Others (but also against ourselves), in private and public spaces, in personal and social relationships, in emotions and behaviors...
