The bookstore opened out of passion, so as not to sit idly and to engage in a job that suited him, since he loved books; they had been his inseparable companions since he was little.
Every good book that was published in Athens was immediately brought in; he also imported books from abroad, from Paris and elsewhere, and his clientele, mostly young people and girls, grew day by day, as each regular customer considered it their duty to be a living advertisement for this small "temple of the Muses," as they themselves named it.
This coastal city, the quintessential Greek city of Macedonia, could boast, even during the years of the Turkish rule, that it had such a distinguished bookstore that honored it, which would honor Athens and every large city.
