Aeschylus is a great poet who is at the beginning of the formation of ancient Greek dramatic poetry.
In his works, various themes are addressed: social, poetic, metaphysical. All of his works are presented with a solid structure and lyrical outbursts.
From his rich oeuvre, seven tragedies are preserved: Persians, Seven Against Thebes, Suppliants, Prometheus Bound, Agamemnon, Choephori, Eumenides - the last three (under the common title Oresteia) constitute the only surviving trilogy of dramatic works.
