Description

Visions around me, my whole life a story with unmoving designs. “Minas Vintiadis (Port Said, 1957), known for his unique style as a prose writer […] enters dramaturgy with realistic writing that is interspersed with the paradoxical, the fluid, the subversive.

At the center of his work lies the human body as a canvas, upon which narratives are inscribed. In Tattooland, the play of identities is highlighted through the writings of their bodies that clients request from a tattoo designer with the curious name “Captain Hook.” […]

Minas Vintiadis creates a dramatic text with short images, video projections, terse dialogues, and succeeds in ingeniously involving the six characters of his work in a dramatically open text, challenging the reader/viewer to provide various interpretations.

A work centered on the social and private body as a carrier of memory and the determination of identity, but at the same time as a quintessential example of the concept of the perishable and the futility. And furthermore, a work about the relationship between creator and creation – a relationship that demands blood.” Dimitris Tsatsoulis (from the preface of the edition)
