This album, the first part of a two-volume edition on Greek settlements, is based entirely on the power of depiction from the eye of photographer Nikos Desyllas, who traveled from one end of Greece to the other gathering the relevant material.
For this reason, when discussing the content of the publication, one should focus on its dominant component, namely the photographs, in two ways: generally in relation to the history of photographing similar themes in Greece and specifically in relation to Desyllas's art.
Dimitris Filippidis, emeritus professor at NTUA.
