The book is nothing more than a montage of the diaries of George Seferis that follows a linear narrative, speaking in cinematic terms. It could be the unfinished version of Seferis' autobiography, which is written parallel to the passage of days, based on the notes of the biographee.
From these, those remain that the anthologist deemed to support and illuminate the relationship between life and work, that is, life and poetry. In this sense, Seferis' voice is mediated by the hearing of the anthologist, based on the aforementioned axis.
A voice that speaks for approximately forty consecutive years about the adventures of the life and writing of one of the most important poets of the twentieth century, whose life and public service closely followed the political life of the country during some of its most dramatic moments.
Thanasis Hatzopoulos is a poet and psychoanalyst.
