“An emotional journey to Cyprus,” a “Chronicle of Cyprus 1953” begins to be envisioned by George Seferis on August 18, 1954, the year after his first trip to the island, alongside the composition of “...Cyprus, which has not been established for me...”.

The publication of the collection in December 1955 does not deter the poet from this prose endeavor, something that seems to be influenced shortly thereafter by his official involvement in the Cyprus issue and the rapid and ominous unfolding of events.

The sketches of Barnabas Kalostefanos privileged us to follow Seferis in his workshop, with all the wealth and anger that sometimes lurks in its corners.
