The prose work "Mitis" emerges from the same emotional substrate of Agiannas, in a narrative form, and unfolds images of an autobiographical narrative of early childhood years in Agia Anna. Grandpa, Mitis, is the dynamic and inexhaustible breath, blowing heroism, optimism, and hidden secrets of the soul. At the same time, individual portraits of the family and the village are presented, or episodes and events, so that we have a composition of mosaic pieces, in the form of a saga. The place, Agia Anna, seems to take center stage, as characters and events from its own history are recounted, from the most mundane to the bombing by the Germans and its tragic victims. The entire narrative gives us a miniature of life in Agia Anna, from the mid-19th century onwards. Mitis is not just a story but fragments of the great history, as they are "shared" in the lives of real people and as they have been experienced and tested their endurance.
Diakomopoulos, with this book, offers his own literary testimony in the reinterpretation of time, drawing emotional ore from the distant experiences of his small homeland.
