During the times of the Greek Enlightenment, representatives of the Korai "middle path" proposed a cultural model for the still subjugated Greek people, in view of their anticipated independence, combining fundamental parameters: tradition and innovative spirit, popular appeal and scholarly depth, East and West.
The mixed language is considered the most suitable as a reflection of a corresponding culture. This essay aims to demonstrate that the proposed model was not an unrealistic construct; rather, its foundation was historically substantiated.
