The book by Katerina Svinou "Life's Heroin" is a collection of eleven self-contained short stories that simultaneously compose a common web that permeates the entire work. One could characterize it entirely as a short story. Since the first chapter seems to have elements of an introductory chapter - beyond the self-contained story presented, in the subsequent chapters, a situation escalates, there is emotional buildup both for the characters and the reader, and in the last two chapters, the "enigma" is resolved and the final, cumulative message of the author is delivered for closure. Although the short story contains elements of fantasy and the unreal, it often resembles something very contemporary, like the exaggeration of modern reality, set against a backdrop reminiscent of thriller movies. A harsh, inhumane system, whose goal is to "square the circle," in contrast to the human who loves, lives, feels, believes in fairy tales as a child and finds joy. However, without a radical change in this inhumane system, who can believe in "and they lived happily ever after"?
