The poet acts like the child playing. He creates a fantastic world that he takes seriously, thereby supplying it with a lot of psychic energy, while clearly distinguishing it from reality. But this lack of reality in the poet's world gives rise to significant consequences for the technique of artistry (...).
The adult remembers how seriously he devoted himself to his childhood games, and now compares his supposedly serious pursuits with those childhood games: he then frees himself from the heavy yoke of life and reaches a higher enjoyment; humor.
We thus find that as age progresses, a person stops playing, seemingly renouncing the pleasure he found in play. But those who understand the psychic life of humans know that there is no more difficult thing for a person than to renounce a pleasure they have experienced.
The truth is that we do not know how to renounce anything; we only know how to exchange something for something else.
