The autobiography of Georgios Konstantinou, titled "Showtime", is published by IANOS. In this book, Georgios Konstantinou, as if performing a theatrical monologue, uniquely intertwines humor with emotion, narrating events and moments that have marked his life.
Georgios Konstantinou was born in Athens and studied at the Drama School of the Art Theatre, founded by Karolos Koun. As an actor, he has served various theatrical genres, performing ancient comedy, Shakespeare, classic works from the international repertoire, such as those by Brecht and Tennessee Williams, as well as works by contemporary writers and revue. He has also collaborated with top Greek authors, such as A. Sakellaridis, D. Psathas, A. Giannakis, K. Pretenderis, I. Kampanellis, among others.
He has starred in numerous performances, including "Art", "Les Misérables", "The Inspector", "The Nannys", "The Birds", "Wealth", "The Women of the Assembly", "The Tailor", "The Imaginary Invalid", and many others.
In film, he starred in well-known movies such as "The Woman Must Fear the Man", "Welcome Dollar", "Love at the Desk", "Wake Up Vasilis", "The Jealous Woman", "Marriage Greek Style", as well as in films he directed himself, such as "5,000 Lies", "The Jack of All Trades", "The KOPANOI", and others.
Since the early 1970s, he has been engaged in writing plays and scripts. In theatre, he wrote and directed for major stars such as L. Konstantaras, M. Kontou, R. Vlachopoulou, D. Iliopoulos, Th. Karakatsanis, among others. His theatrical works that have been presented include: "The Wonderful World of Makrypodi", "A Virgin for Me", "The Lords of the Lords", "The Wolf and If He Grows Old", "Citizen... G Category", "The Last Pasok-ites", "The Last to Close the Door", and others.
He made his television debut in 1971 by writing the comedy series "Doctor Tick", in which he also starred. In the decades that followed, he created many television series, such as: "Human Stories", "Let the World Laugh", "Three and a Half", "Don't Turn Your Back on Me", "Father, Son and Spirit", "The Seven Bad Omens of My Fate", "Secretary for Tears", and others.
In 2006, he was awarded the "Panathenaic" award for his performance in a revue number, while in 2010, he received the Audience Award from "Athinorama" for his performance in the show "The Tailor". As he says, it does not matter which theatrical genre you serve. What matters is that you believe in it and deliver it with your soul. Then everything is art.
