An organization of society that would abolish the conditions of trade, and consequently the possibility of trade, would make the existence of the Jew impossible. His religious consciousness would dissolve like lifeless smoke in the real life-giving air of society.

On the other hand: when the Jew recognizes this practical essence as powerless and works towards its elimination, he steps outside the framework of his previous evolution towards pure human emancipation and turns against the extreme practical expression of human self-alienation.

Thus, we discover in Judaism a universal modern anti-social element, which through the historical progression, where Jews have zealously collaborated in this negative direction, has reached its current height, a height that must necessarily dissolve.
